FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

What safety precautions are you taking for Covid?

All of our services are currently online or over the telephone.

What do you specialize in?

I have experience with children, teenagers and adults. I am certified in treating complex trauma and PTSD as well as grief, depression and anxiety. I believe in treating the person as a whole; mind, body and spirit.

What are the rates of your services?

My normal fee is 120 dollars per 50 minute session. That being said, if finances are a barrier to you receiving help, please talk to me. I do not believe that money should be a barrier to wellness.

How do you protect my privacy?

All online sessions are done through the secure clinic management app, Jane. All phone sessions are conducted over a dedicated landline. All digital information remains in Canada. Any hard copy notes that I take are stored in a locked filing cabinet.

Can you direct bill my insurance company?

Counsellors can not direct bill insurance companies in BC at this time in most cases.  If you have counselling as a benefit on your insurance, you would pay at the time of service and apply for reimbursement to your insurance provider. Plans have different limitations on their benefits so it is important to be familiar with your plan. I am a registered provider for the First Nations Health Authority, so I can direct bill Pacific Blue Cross for individuals who qualify for benefits under the FNHA plan.

What if I can’t make an appointment?

Life happens and sometimes you can’t make an appointment. In that case, please try to let me know by phone, email or the Jane app as soon as you know that you will not be able to make it.
