Authentic Connection Counselling was established in 2021 by Rena Koon after graduating from UNBC with a Master’s degree in counselling. It is an independent business, which allows for flexible appointment times and a sliding fee schedule.

Meet Rena

Rena offers an in integrative, person centered approach tailored to meet each client’s needs. She believes in the healing power of connection and relationship. She is a Registered Clinical Counsellor with a Master’s degree in Counselling from UNBC. Rena believes that professional learning is important in serving her clients to the best of her ability. She holds CCTP level 1 and level 2 certification (Certified Complex Trauma Practitioner) an ICS (Indigenous Cultural Safety) certificate, and has additional training in DBT (Dialectical Behaviour Therapy) CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy) and Narrative Therapy. She is a registered provider with the First Nations Health Authority, a registered vendor for ICBC and is able to bill the Crime Victims Assistance Program.
